How this Journal handles data

Updated 15 October 2026

Publisher and scope

BladeFeed Journal is published by BladeFeed, founded by Andy Durge. Contact support@bladefeed.app about this publication or its use of data. This notice concerns journal.bladefeed.app. The BladeFeed app and product website are separate services; check their own information when following a link or signing in there.

Reading and technical connections

You can read Journal articles without creating a Journal account. Delivering a web page involves a connection to the hosting service, which receives technical request information such as an IP address, requested address and browser information. On article pages, the Google AdSense script also connects to Google. The home/search pages contain verification metadata but no advertising scripts. Pausing advertising requests does not prevent the script itself from being downloaded or all technical contact with Google.

Your choices stored in this browser

The theme switch can remember your light or dark choice in this browser. The reading list is stored locally only when you choose its remember option. The maintenance organiser reads, saves or erases its local log when you use the corresponding control. The menu search puts your query in the page address and sends it to hosting when that page loads. Catalogue filters, calculators and organiser answers are processed by local scripts without submitting their entries to Journal. Local copies are specific to the browser and site address. Use the tool’s erase control or clear site data in browser settings to remove stored choices; closing a tab alone does not erase local storage.

Google advertising and third parties

Google and other advertising vendors may place or read cookies, use web beacons, IP addresses or device identifiers to deliver, measure and protect advertising. Advertising cookies can support ads based on earlier visits to this or other sites. Our current Journal integration requests non-personalized advertising by default. That does not mean advertising is free of cookies or technical data processing. A published consent message provides information about the participating vendors and available choices. Google’s privacy and partner-site explanations below describe its processing and retention.

Consent and changing your choice

Advertising requests start paused. The Journal waits for a ready consent-platform signal; missing, failed or refused qualifying consent keeps requests paused. A confirmed signal that European consent rules do not apply can also release requests. The local gate does not replace a certified consent platform. Where Google’s consent interface is available, the Privacy and cookie settings button in the footer reopens it and pauses new requests while you choose again. You can also manage personalized advertising in Google’s ad settings. Changing a choice does not undo data already sent; browser controls can remove cookies and site data.

Links, messages and privacy questions

Following a product, app-store, social or source link opens a service with its own privacy terms. Some BladeFeed links contain campaign labels identifying this Journal or article; those labels are not a promise of anonymous processing by the destination. If you email us, your email address and message are part of that correspondence. Include only what is needed. For questions about data, access, correction or deletion, write to support@bladefeed.app and identify the page or service involved. We cannot erase your browser-local records remotely or change Google account settings for you.
