Aggressive inline trick dictionary and practice
Find the meaning behind a trick name. This starter dictionary covers nine contact, grab and entry terms, with a reference and naming note for each. Keep ordinary English names when reading a caption; compare the definition before deciding what uncertain footage shows.
Nine trick terms, A–Z
These are definitions for reading, not a trick progression or permission to attempt an obstacle. Build rolling and stopping control, check equipment and required protection, and seek appropriate in-person instruction before trying unfamiliar tricks.
These records use one stated reference convention. Local and generational naming can differ. Its previews are primarily left-leg dominant; that is a preview choice. Where wording is unclear, the record says so rather than resolving it by guesswork. No pronunciation, coaching review, own execution or animation review is claimed.
Take a trick name apart
Use a name from a BladeFeed caption or your own notes. This helper separates a small checked set of base names, orientation labels and variations; it reads text, not footage. It cannot confirm what a skater performed.
Names stay on this page. No account, upload, storage or transmission is used.

What this grammar covers
| Text pattern | How it is read | Boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Soul, Mizou, Makio, Royale, Safety Grab | One base name; a bare Soul can also mean the family. | No entry, exit, level or observed performance inferred. |
| Frontside Royale / Backside Royale | Explicit orientation + Royale base. | Bare Frontside and Backside can be standalone names or orientation labels. |
| Topside + Soul, Mizou or Makio | Topside variation + a listed soul-family base. | No conversion to special nicknames and no extra modifiers. |
| Half Cab Mizou | Entry variation + Mizou; the source names this example. | Other Half Cab combinations are outside this first grammar. |
Only the patterns above are accepted. Word order matters. A complete dictionary entry does not automatically make every combination valid here. Unknown parts and unlisted combinations stop the reading; the original text is never silently corrected.
Try a text example
- Backside Royale
Explicit orientation + Royale base.
- Top Mizu
Topside variation + a listed soul-family base.
- Half Cab Mizou
Entry variation + Mizou; the source names this example.
- Frontside
More than one reading. The name alone does not settle the context.
- Alleyoop Soul
No complete reading in this limited grammar. This does not prove the name is wrong or the trick impossible.
This is a reading aid, not an execution assessment or progression. Names can vary by community; if a clip hides the contact, ask a precise question instead of treating a text result as proof.

Backside

Rotation and entry · Variations

- One skate uses its soulplate; the other skate’s frame groove contacts behind it along the direction of travel.

Record version: 2026-10-11.dictionary.v1Royale
- Meaning
- The rear skate uses its outer frame groove and the front skate its inner groove.

How to practise with the cards
Read a term, explain it in your own words, then reveal the compact definition and follow its source. For Soul and Mizou, notice the position of the second skate. For the broader groove family, distinguish the contact area from entry and exit variations. If footage does not show the relevant contact, record uncertainty rather than choosing a confident label.
This is vocabulary practice, not execution coaching or a personalised progression. Before trying a new obstacle, build ordinary rolling and stopping control, check the equipment and protective requirements, and seek suitable in-person instruction. No coaching review or personal performance is claimed.

Record version: 2026-10-11.v1Explain your answer
Use a precise uncertainty note
For example, you can write “the second skate’s contact is not visible” in your own clip notes. That observation is more useful than inventing a trick label. This is a hypothetical annotation, not a description of real footage.
The date identifies this record version, not a claim that terminology can never change. A saved or printed copy may become old; its Journal URL points to the current online records. The compact descriptions follow the stated reference’s convention and do not establish a universal naming authority.
