Recognise three skatepark obstacle shapes
Name a shape from its side profile, then compare your answer with a short definition. The three diagrams were drawn for this Journal: they represent idealised geometry, not a real venue, construction plan or trick demonstration.
All diagrams use the same colours. Read their visible text alternatives if you cannot see the drawings. A real quarterpipe need not follow a perfect quarter-circle, and actual boxes, decks, coping and transitions vary. Naming a profile does not establish that it is suitable to skate. Before a new obstacle, build rolling and stopping control, check the area and protection rules, and seek appropriate in-person instruction.
These controls run locally without saving or transmitting answers.
Diagram 1
A curved slope becomes steeper toward a flat upper platform.
Diagram 2
A straight inclined slope joins the ground to a flat upper platform.
Diagram 3
A raised rectangle has a broad, flat top above level ground.
